Ennistymon Places to Visit
Ennistymon is a market town located in the North West of County Clare. The town is located about 30km from Ennis via the N85. The town is located close to Lahinch, the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren and also about a 20 minute drive to the famous Fr.Ted house. Ennistymon is located on the River Inagh and an area known as the Cascades run behind the main street. The Cascades are small rapids from the River Inagh.
Places to Visit in Ennistymon, Clare
Like most areas in County Clare, Ennistymon is well known for its traditional Irish music. Within the town itself there are numerous pubs, cafes and restaurants. There is a large Super Valu as well as a bakery, hairdressers and butchers shops.
Just outside the town on the Lahinch road there is a Famine Memorial. The memorial was placed in 1995 on the 150th anniversary of the famine. The famine memorial is located just up the road from Ennistymon Community Hospital.
There is also a large hotel in Ennistymon as well as a number of B&B’s. The hotel is a popular spot for weddings due to its stunning location and views on the grounds of the hotel.
There is a Farmers Market in the town every Saturday from 10-2 selling everything from fresh home grown vegetables to plants.
Transport in Ennistymon, Clare
Ennistymon is served by two Bus Eireann routes the 333 and 350. The 333 links the town with Ennis and Doonbeg, while the 350 travels between Ennis and Galway via Ennistymon. Rail services are available from Ennis and Galway.
